My tutoring sessions bring the same techniques and care I use in the classroom, tailored one-on-one for your student.

Services

Sessions are flexible and built around what your student needs most — whether that's keeping up, catching up, or getting ahead.

Writing Support

From brainstorming to final draft, students learn to develop ideas, structure their thinking, and revise their own work with confidence. Grammar and mechanics are woven throughout, so students understand the rules in the context of their own writing. Covers argument, informational, and narrative writing.

Grades 5–8

Reading Comprehension

Reading at the middle school level demands more than decoding words on a page. Students learn close reading strategies to slow down, dig into a text, and think critically about what they're reading. Covers inference, analysis, vocabulary in context, and the kinds of comprehension skills that transfer across subjects and standardized tests.

Grades 5–8

Executive Functioning Support

Strong readers and writers need more than skills — they need systems. I help students build habits around managing assignments, organizing materials, and approaching tasks independently, so they can apply their abilities consistently in and out of the classroom.

Grades 5–8

High School Application Essays

The personal statement is one of the most important pieces of writing a middle schooler will tackle. I work with 8th graders to develop their voice, identify compelling stories, and craft essays that feel authentic. Support includes brainstorming, drafting, revision, and final polish.

From the families I've worked with

"Our daughter went from dreading writing assignments to actually feeling proud of her essays. Having a real classroom teacher as a tutor made all the difference — she knew exactly what middle school teachers are looking for."

Parent of a 6th grader, Noe Valley

"Within a month, my son's reading comprehension scores improved and — more importantly — he stopped saying he hated English. The sessions are engaging and actually feel relevant to what he's doing in school."
